I'm bad at this

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

You know, I could totally see that complaint and it's definitely legitimate. I wouldn't have minded either more in general exploring different proxies for a few episodes to tell more story or some other vehicle for exposition but then - either way - a two parter for the finale with more to the ending.

Also, Monad Re-L in the end was. I'm not sure. Weird. The concept was fine and the theory of her final moments was good on paper but the execution... I don't know how it could've been better but I feel like it could have. Maybe that ties into your suggestion of a less abruption end? I also think a flashback to... Not hacked up Monad would've been nice so the angel imagery didn't feel so insanely forced and heavy handed.

it's been a while since i've seen it so i'm just going based on what i can remember, and i totally remember feeling so annoyed with the ending and the ill-placed filler that could've been used to explain more of the story before that abrupt ending. i'll never understand what their reasoning was to throw in fillers just before the final episodes.

in general i did love the series tho. i think it had a strong opening, and one of my favorite episodes actually was a filler. (busy doing nothing, in case you were curious.) i loved someone like you/ophelia and the episode with the library and the old man. some of the more philosophical subjects they touched were really nice.

i remember the series fondly but at the same time it also tested my patience every now and then, too.

Oh man, I loved Busy Doing Nothing too! That was up there with... The episode name escapes me right now and I'm on mobile but the actually super, super sad one with Pino, the piano, and the mutated subhumans. I know, it was really dark but I just appreciated they were delving into some of the planet aspects.

Some of the fillers were great, others were super weird. Though I will give the series credit in that at least everything in the fillers always managed to tie in, even if I was scratching my head during it going down. Still, I agree, there was way too much filler too close to the closure of the series. There was even some filler time within non-filler episodes in those last few where it was like please just chuck this scene out guys, not helpful.
