rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Late response but it's something I've seen pop up sporadically across the fandom, in dwrp, tumblr and fanfic. Basically treating Edea as if she was always going to become the next Lord or Lady Marshal after Braev.

The issue being that Lord Marshal isn't usually an inherited title, it's a military one, and that Braev outright deemed himself a Usurper when overthrowing the Orthodoxy HQ. A self-titled Usurper is not exactly setting up his family as having a "right" to rule. While there does seem to be some expectation that Edea will eventually take his place, no one is about to let her just glide right into it, even the ones who like her. It seems to be much more that she'll take his place because she is his daughter and has the kind of temperament and drive to take charge, not "she is his daughter and thus already has a title and shit".

If you're worried about overdoing Edea's love of food, don't worry. Short of having her stuff her face while people are screaming for help, you really, really can't. Hell, if she heard someone screaming for help while she was eating, she'd probably stuff a drumstick in her pocket before running to check it out if she could. In one of the later party chats she does something that could be incredibly beneficial for Eisenberg because it has the possibility of resulting in tasty food, and Ringabel even outright tells Datz not to let her know that there was a simpler solution to getting the tasties. Which is a thing about her? Her self-assurance, impulsiveness and worldly desires could easily make her a self-centered and rather awful brat if it wasn't kept in check by her strong sense of justice. She wouldn't be able to forgive herself if she harmed another person just to get what she wants. ...But it's okay to steal Tiz's wallet for clothes-shopping, because it's fine, she'll pay him back later. Maybe.

She's very much a defender of the weak, but her morality might have holes in other places. You could easily have her do dubious things.

Also BD writing is terrible in some places, but don't drive her to extremes in intelligence. I've seen Edeas be very cunning, and I've seen discussion of her that talks like she's brainless. She's pretty middle ground imo.

ah, i getcha. i never thought of edea as a natural born royal leader, so i never even considered that. thanks for taking the time to type this all up!
