Inazuma Eleven was poorly written garbage, just like anything else that came from level 5. Compared to more interesting sports animanga, Inazuma Eleven is such shonenshit garbage, a lot of the characters bully the shit out of each other, enforces a bunch of that typical "manliness is everything" garbage seen in typical shonen shows, and sometimes the plot just got plain stupid.

I mean think about all the dumb shit that happens in inazuma, alien trying to take over the world using soccer, time travel because of soccer, specal moves ranging from magic soccer armor to SOCCER STANDS, plot takes itself way too seriously, and Tenma was just ridiculous in the way he refers to soccer like it's people. As corny as Free! and Yowapeda can get at times, there was never a line inn either of their shows worse than "YOU'RE MAKING SOCCER CRY!"

Inazuma Eleven is like one of those shows where being in that fandom is fucking embarrassing for everyone involved. I'm glad it's finally dead and I can put that dark section of my life behind me when I was in that fandom when it was still airing.

But that's why I loved inazuma so much, it was so different than the kinda stuff that we get for sports anime these days, it was exciting in the way of what crazy fucking shit would happen next.

and I really liked the characters, if only because they were more interesting, diverse, and varied than shows like Free! where the characters are stock BL cliches.

I really wish more shows were just as varied as Inazuma is when it comes to characters, while there were manly asshole characters, there were still plenty of sweet cinnamon rolls to have feels for. (Taichimukai, Fubuki, Ichinose, Hikaru, etc.)

my main problem with inazuma eleven is it got very predictable after a while, and the way to fandom turned a lot of things into dank memes didn't help.

-anything involving trucks killing family members and ruining joy for everyone

-it gets very tiring how excited these kids get about soccer at times. making soccer cry, i'll show you real soccer, protecting true soccer, etc. it gets really grating, especially on Tenma's part.

-the amount of dank memes popping up over the silliest background things were groan worthy. see: endou's tire.

-The points where the show tries to be super serious drama is legitimately cringe-worthy. A character getting upset over a dead friend or family member? Good! Maybe over their own self doubt about letting the team down? Cool. Being upset because someone "made soccer cry" or your team loses to a team that "just doesn't understand true soccer!"? Uhhhhh... Inazuma Eleven could get very silly, but it could also be ridiculously melodramatic at times.
