rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

okay, I believe you but all it takes is to look back a post or two and see why it's sad to see the same complaint and no one actually trying to change anything and just bitching about it instead.

it's sad that instead of fostering positive change all people are doing is putting down the people that are enjoying the canons or genres they play from.

if people aren't joining the game because they feel it's unwelcoming, how is the onus of fostering positive change on them? how can you make a positive change on the environment of a game when you can't get into it yourself?

fair questions, but i don't really mean that it's one side and not the other that needs to compromise. it's both sides pulling in opposite directions that is counterproductive and both are being unreasonable in one way or another.

I think it's natural for people to be upset about these things, but if you look at it from an outside perspective it's easy to see how players in the game are frustrated too. There were calls from anon for less sports, people brought in idols and then came the cry for less of both. Now the same with countries, which all appear to be previous players based on the mod plurk.

you can see how it's tiring because no one is happy with anything brought in, so people that are having fun just keep doing what they do since nothing appeases those outside. it must be just as tiring for you guys too, which is sad to see as well

tldr compromise needs to come from both sides, but there's no easy fix

getting the game back to where it used to be (where we had a good variety of character types of all ages) likely won't happen, or it will take a long time and depend on players who are willing to stick it out in the crowd of anime teens.

people who are playing characters they enjoy in the game shouldn't feel pressured to drop and app someone else just because other people don't like those canons

if people want to app more sports or idols or countries because those are the characters they want to play they should

"i don't like x canon! stop playing from x and app from y instead!" is an incredibly entitled demand to make and should frankly be ignored

the only responsibility the players in the game have is to be welcoming to newbies and be open to cr with characters outside of their friends circle

if the complainers don't want to play with the characters that are already present in the game then they should either enable their friends to app what they want or consider a different game

except no one's saying that the new people don't want to play with people already in game. the problem here is that people are apping in chars they want to play to 'be the change', and the people in game are giving them false promises to play with them and 'ooh, i can't wait to see a x in game!!!'

so x is brought in and then ignored. it has nothing to do with people wanting those already in game to drop and app in different canons. it has to do with people in game lying about how welcoming they are to other canons, then ignoring and dropping threads when someone else tries to join. that makes this an unwelcoming game and being lied to doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
