well DAMN, jackie, i can't control how many sports animes they produce!

but nah what kind of canons/characters do you think the game could use more of, leaving off what you think it could use less of. i wanna app but dont know who to pick yet.

diffent anon, but i've always wanted to try playing in holly. however, the sports and anime there in general is what keeps me away. most of my characters are adults or 2real looking vg and i know i wouldn't get much cr with 100+ animes saying my character is a gramps or granny when they're only 30+. i've been in other games that have given me the same treatment, so idk. the same cr (mentoring, advice giving, adult doing damage control on teen animu shenanigans) for years only goes so far. i love hh's premise since it's cute and lowkey, but it'd be a chore to play if i were to app atm.

all in all, i just want more adults versus eighteen year olds assigned to parent slots. good luck if you do decide to app, anon!

+1 to this. i was in the game for a hot minute more than a year ago and it was just so hard to get cr and so repetitive with what i DID get that i ended up dropping. it's really unwelcoming to characters that aren't teenagers, especially if they aren't male characters. in this instance i did have an adult male but it was really weird being surrounded by so many gay teenage boys and the cr was really limited that it wasn't worth apping to. i really loved this game when i was in it long before that and i keep hoping that it'll have a turn around so i can reapp but "be the change you want to see" isn't worth shit if you're the only change for months and months and you're not having fun AND people aren't having fun with you

couldn't even be bothered to app after i and others were frantically buttpatted in the mod plurk ("OMG PLZ PLZ PLZ YOU HAVE ADULTS AND WOMEN PLZ BRING THEM BRING YOUR GROWN-UPS WE LOVE THEM HNNNG LOVE LOVE") and then got absolute jack shit in the test drive

i top-leveled with different options, i tagged out, got maybe one or two bites before they fell flat because they were too busy tagging their 9 millionth obscure castmate

adding in that i've played the whole mentoring, advice giving adult who has to pick up after all the shonen protags deal before and it's incredibly draining. glad i gave this game a miss in the end

i don't see an adult that didn't end up apping or just didn't respond, i hate to be the one here to call bullshit but this actually looks more like grudgewank now

alright, i got curious so i checked the tdms all the way back to the end of 2014 and i found two characters who sort of fit your stories.

no need to be so aggressive though. ayrt was just curious about the validity of your claims and i checked, so there. sorry it happened to you guys, but the tdms where i found those shafted adult characters were in january and february and neither character had different options in their top-level nor tagged out.

yeah, maybe adult characters are being ignored in favor of teenage animes, but at least make your stories more believable.

it's not that strange to want to find deets? i'm perfectly aware that the playerbase here revolves around young anime characters, but other anons are making it sound worse than it actually is. holly heights has had issues with cliqueyness for a long time now, it's nothing new and it's not any more noticeable than it was when people were naming players instead of just putting everyone in the game under a single blanket.

don't you see that this kind of behavior is part of the problem, though? people are giving their experiences with the game and you're coming along going "Well, I went and fact checked and verified and *I* can't see what the hell you're talking about, so I call bullshit."

this is why the game never comes up on either comm anymore. people have just given up on it because they know they'll either get ignored or have people like you come in and la la la at them about how 'there's no wank in holly heights'.

whether you agree with it or not, you need to face the fact that the game as a whole is just unwelcoming if you don't play a certain char type. sure, people can try to be the change, but i can tell you that i personally wouldn't stay in a game long if i felt like no one wanted to play with my char or the one/two threads i got were dropped or felt like i was getting a bored, obligated tag back. fuck that. i'll play where i can actually have fun. you can keep your little circlejerk.

That wasn't what I was doing at all, I was more concerned that maybe they were someone I had tagged and lost the thread. Without finding anything though, it was a very unsure feeling about what is the truth.

I never said it was my favorite game, but it seems to me that if you guys are trying to give a balanced view of a game that you don't play in or really hate that the opinion is going to be very skewed.

It was a genuine curiosity that turned into fact-checking, I'm sorry to have caused a problem but I don't see this as any different than double checking Facebook share fodder.

i'm gonna be honest, hh is a really teenagers and anime-heavy game. if you play a character who does nothing but talk down to teenagers you're gonna have a tough time, so i'm not going to say "more adults!!", because it's a shitty suggestion. i will say don't app if you're looking to keep away from all teenager cr, it'll save everyone a headache. i don't think you ~have to app an anime~, either, but if your character isn't going to deal well with character types common in anime, it's going to take a little work to get cr. contrary to popular belief, it's not impossible as long as you're willing to tag around and able to be realistic about the fact that some people are lost causes. (some of the sports players clearly only want to play with other sports like 90% of the time. that kind of cliquishness isn't universal, though, and tbh it's just as annoying from the gross legbeard brigade.)

adults (or mature older teenagers/young adults) who can balance cr with the other adults in-game and engage with teenagers is probably the best way to describe the kind of character i, personally, am looking for. to be frank, it's not like our firmly adult characters are models of maturity or grace: it's mostly gintama and kill la kill with a smattering of some others, so the ratio of dick jokes is pretty high.

girls are always welcome. yes, including the idol and sports kinds. there's a lot of complaining about gay teenage boys (as if that's different from anywhere else in rp?) but imo it's a sort of chicken-and-egg thing where people who only care about yaoi apped in and that turned some girls off but a smaller amount of teenage girls meant players of teenage boys would go for other ships, so even for those players who would be interested in het it's just not that easy. older high school range girls would be especially great from a teenage perspective. adult women of any stripe would also be really great to see - i don't have the time for one atm but i'd like to add one to my game roster some time soon. and until then i'd kill to play with one.

anon above me seems to have the expectation that all adult-teen cr in this game is mentoring/parenting shit and that's not, in my experience, really true, and especially not on a game-wide scale.

you do realize anon made it seem out to be like their character doesn't talk down to teens and has spent time in different game tagging shit animu protags. their point is holly is an interesting game they'd like to try, but their characters would have a hard time finding varied cr when all of the adult roles (you know, the parent slots, are mostly 18+) are just the same kid tropey shounen shit that probably wouldn't mesh will with soon to be middle-aged characters or older.

good to know you're the special 1% snowflake of holly, anon. your experiences don't mean shit if someone who is only interested in apping into holly sees rampant emojis on the network, recycled plots, favoritism of sports animu/idols, canonmate cliques getting into same teams repeatedly in ooc planning means their perceptions of a game is whoa!!! wrong!!! at least that's what i see when i wanna gauge if holly is worth applying to or not. your idea of 'adults' isn't the same as anon's above either if you think gintama or kill la kill characters count.

on a serious note it's good that you're actually giving points and examples, anon, but the whole 'be the change' is useless to preach when you guys are known for being unwelcoming to new players that don't fit the norm of powered kids or sports teens. you could have more adult characters in your game that are more 'models of maturity or grace' and most of my muselist is that. and i'd like to play in a similar game to holly that isn't just a meme or psl, but fuck trying to play in a game where 95% of your characters are the same kids or teens ready to help my middle-aged character solve their angst with capslock shenanigans or uplifting shounen speeches. i've had the same cookie cutter cr for years, but for once maybe i'd like some adult cr shooting the shit in animu suburbia.

you're doing a piss-poor job of advertising your game when the point anon was trying to make went completely over your head. so are you gonna give links and facts for your experiences, too? girls are always welcome in any game regardless, but not when most of your shit animus aim for fujoshit ships and leave others with lackluster tags since building cr is too much of a hassle with the high turnover!!
