I'm bad at this

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

when i order stuff for delivery, i just pay the tip with my card because i don't have cash on me most of the time.

is that a bad thing? are cash tips highly preferred because their bosses can't keep track of it? or something?

I think it's because there's a fee for credit card use for the business so they lose that part plus yeah. Cash tips are reported separately from income on taxes so if you pay cash you can probably fudge a lower amount.

That said it's not the end of the world and is more important that you too at all than how you tip.

probably because bosses can't keep track of it, or it might just be more convenient/immediately on-hand? The processing fee is fairly small--it'll add up over time, but I wouldn't think to give anyone the stink-eye for tipping me with credit card for that. If it's what you have on hand, it's what you have.

credit tips are automatically reported so you pay taxes on them. cash tips are dependent on the employee reporting them. it's not really a big enough deal to worry about. i'd MUCH rather get credit than nothing.

when i did delivery they cashed out all my card tips at the end of the night, so it literally made no difference to me. maybe to my bosses, but i never asked.
