Rundown:

rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

-Know the Epic. Read it, and then look back at Gilgamesh to see where the Epic and Fate/ Gil do intersect. (For example, Epic!Gil has a distinct fear of death. Look at how UFOtable animated Gil's face in ep 17 where Kirei reveals that Tokiomi will have Gil commit suicide at the end of the Grail War. Those points are really useful.)
-Do a little background reading on ancient Uruk/Sumeria in general, and have an idea of the time period. Food (Sumerians loved beer), trade and goods (literally everything is made of lapis lazuli), that sort of thing. Not much, a wiki article or two will do.
-Keep in mind that the Gil of /zero and the Gil of /stay night are still the same person, just /stay night Gil has been living with Kirei for ten years and loathing the modern world for just as long. It helps to explain the flucutation, at the very least.
-Likewise for /extra, keep in mind that because stuff is On the Moon, that same loathing for the modern world isn't present. That loathing? That is what Gil's characterization really comes from in Fate/
-Remember the little details too. Not just with Enkidu, but that Gil rebuilt the walls of Uruk and therefore is a bit of an architect. Re-read the UBW intermission with Shinji which lays out his /stay night characterization perfectly.
