so how are we liking the October event now that it's gone on for a little while? any favorite new monster designs or anything else (monster picks you like for certain characters, things anyone has done with theirs)?

if you picked a temporary monster, are you going to keep it for the full 2 months allowed or switch back sooner?

to start this off: I'm really enjoying seeing what everyone's done with their new monster designs! Nisha is awesome as usual, Eikichi's peacock harpy looks cool too, and the fairies as a whole are interesting with the bugs they picked (I've seen grasshopper, mantis, firefly, and even if we have a couple moths already III is a pretty cute one)

so many naga too, I guess temporarily having no legs is better for people than permasnake? interesting to see when naga is a popular opt out though!

keeping mine the whole duration too, I'm having a lot of fun with it.

either that or they wanted permasnake, didn't get it and at least this is a chance to play with it for a while for free

aw thanks anon! i have to admit i was really reluctant to go with moth because they're already a popular pick but i mean...mothman...rods...it was basically too perfect a choice not to and then i found a species with iii's color scheme and that was that

i'm def glad for more variety though, i want someone to do a mosquito or gadfly faerie so bad

I'm waiting to decide after the second part goes up! I can't wait to see how it concludes.

+1 on everyone's new monster forms though!

echoing the sentiments from elsewhere that i wish this was the november event instead! it was really bad timing for the new folks.

it looks like so much fun but i didn't want my character to be given a temp monster before their permanent one. even just a few weeks with the permanent one first would have been good (but if it's continuing maybe there'll be a round 2?).

hopefully there will be similar events in the future because i've seen a ton of fun designs.

Yeah, this was a really newbie-unfriendly event (most of the newbies I've seen are either opting out or using it to get their assigned monsters) which is unfortunate for such a cool concept that probably won't be repeated any time soon. It feels like the type of event that'd usually go in a non-app month, except for the fact that October is Halloween and apparently that means an obligatory bigger event because horror game.

However, I legitimately don't think the mods anticipated how many people wouldn't want to dive straight in to playing a temporary monster. It could be a good suggestion for future plots of this sort, if there are any.

idk I felt like the opposite would be rougher? change to your assigned monster, then to your temp monster, then back to the assigned one again... i would get transformation thread fatigue :( it's the name of the game but it'd still be a lot in a short period & would put my char in a different place ic with their feelings on it

yeah that's true too. i suppose my biggest concern was having to have my character suck in that confused stage where they don't know if their permanent monster is their permanent one or if it's going to change in a few months again. if they got their permanent one first and changed back into it after, they'd be more likely to assume that's what they're going to stay as.

i also wanted to play the changes from human to monster for their permanent one. i'm okay with quicker changes for temporary monsters, but it wouldn't be as interesting to me if they went from monster to monster without the slower early changes.

The only nitpick I have is I wish we were getting the part 2 information sooner, in case it might affect my plans with my temporarily changed characters or for people who only wanted shorter transformation periods. Otherwise, I'm having fun.
