rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. I love this game but I wouldn't join a cast unless I knew the cast as friends beforehand. It's too tough to get reliable cast CR otherwise, in my experience.

Or you could do what I do and just play. If I have CR with my castmates, great, if I don't well that sucks but that's fine. Cross canon CR can be even more fun than cast stuff.

Luckily I'm not having cast trouble. My cast is being amazing with me. By "gamemates" I meant people outside my cast, sorry for being unclear. :(

Tagging around and playing is exactly what I'm doing but it doesn't seem to be helping me get cr with people outside my canon.

try the cr meme. it should go up soon ( i hope ) and i for one would love cr with all types. 2 of my chars don't have castmates, so all i have is crosscanon for them and i want it all.

Most of my cr is cross canon for this reason. Not sure why these particular cast mates won't tag me back but whatever.

I wish I could get cross canon cr. I'm trying to not be cliquey but getting tags outside my cast is what I'm struggling with.

i have to say this has not been my experience at all. i guess just try different people on the next CR meme? do you play a particularly controversial or dark character? because a lot of people aren't really here for that so that might be a barrier.

I'll keep plugging away but it's kind of discouraging. This experience isn't typical with my other games. I was hoping with the flood of new characters it would help so I'll give it another month or two :)

is it just me or is that not much of a barrier anymore? we've gotten a lot of characters i would consider 'dark' lately. not that that is a bad thing imo. just noticing it's a little more prevalent now.

it definitely depends on the character i think? i mean, there's dark and there's dark.

pretty much. antagonists and the like usually don't do so badly here, but someone spewing out hate speech or something along those lines is usually just screwing themselves.

In my experience, Eudio is kinda like any other game in that regard. You have people who stick to their cliques and they're hard to get CR with, and you have people who tag out of them more readily. I feel like it's a matter of just finding the right people to tag with? I had some hits, I had some misses just like everywhere. So my advice is echoing what the other anon had said, if you still want to put in the effort: try to hit up different people now, either on logs or on the CR meme (it's coming up next weekend), and see how that goes.

+1ing thing. There are plenty of logs/network posts that don't get that many hits and people obviously are trying to reach out. Sometimes you have to just accept that you're not going to get the cr you want with the chars you want and find something else.

Especially on that last part. Getting fixated on just a certain CR that's obviously not working out is the fastest way of souring the game for yourself. Hell, I've been in the game a while and it's still a hit and miss when I tag out for new CR. With old and new players alike.

it's kind of a bummer when someone apps in a char you'd really, really like to have cr with, but they wind up being insular. then i just remind myself that i'm not owed that cr and go find something that i can enjoy playing. there's close to, if not over, five hundred characters in the game. the likelihood of finding someone you can click with is high, if you're willing to look for it.

thanks so much anons! I slept on it and came to the same conclusion because, as you said, no one owes me cr and it may be discouraging but with the variety of characters and players out there I'm bound to hit paydirt.

I posted here because I'm frustrated after a month of dropped threads and few plots. work's made branching out to other people OOCly difficult wrt time/energy and I wanted to give people a chance

methinks it's time to move on to greener pastures in this game

holy shit

yeah the most recent app round got a ludicrous number of applications - i think it was nearly or just over 200, since a lot of people apped in before the app cap goes into effect next month, so it almost literally doubled in a week

and i'm being incredibly active, tagging out as much as possible and replying to tags and reaching out to people on plurk and the CR meme so i'm stumped really

why do people join games if they don't want to play

honestly, as much as i love eudio it does attract flakes because such a low-stakes environment is perfect for flaky players. you just have to accept that, drop the flakes, and stick with those who stick around
