I have one character who's mid-20s and one who's a teenager, and they get about the same amount of activity and interest, so I don't think adult characters have any problem getting involved!

That said, I wouldn't recommend an adult character who would be uninterested in dealing with teens, just because people under 18 make up so much of the game that if your character is the "ugh, kids" type they'll probably have trouble getting involved. My adult character is a mentor/teacher type, which I think helps a lot in developing CR with younger characters.

I play an older adult character, and haven't had any trouble getting CR at all (if anything, I was overwhelmed by how many replies I got!) However, he's also a mentor type who loves kids. I could see it being difficult if your character wouldn't want to socialize with younger characters.
