someone come up with a non-musebox sex game idea that doesn't take place in a dystopia and doesn't rely on fuck-or-die mechanics

you mean midnight syndicate? it's not fuck-or-die (but the maeve will aphro you up if you keep avoiding sex) and it's not a dystopia.

the only way you're getting a sex game that doesn't at least involve aphro to push characters into having sex is to not have it be a sex game at all. otherwise you won't have nearly enough characters who are appable because most characters won't want to have sex all the time or for someone else's benefit. which means it's better off being a small musebox game.

nah there would be plenty of appable characters. people would just rather play characters that are unsuitable and ooc for the setting.

tbf, that's the appeal of most games; taking their char out of their setting and making them adjust to a panfandom game. otherwise we'd all be playing in fandom specific games. the problem comes with char type. some people only play specific types of characters and sometimes, their either small list or long list only has not-entirely-appropriate-for-smut types. and i get the concept of 'only app in people that are suitable', but honestly? i'd rather someone app in someone so wrong and work to make them fit. it's fun for them and it could be interesting to play off.

and before you say 'well, they should just pick up someone suitable to play in a sex game' - that's easier said than done. first off, a lot of 'suitable' types are probably going to be snapped up pretty quickly. secondly, it borders on that ridiculous 'play a canon char before apping in an oc' rule, since it's effectively making you play someone you don't really want to play in the first place, without even having the benefit of getting to app in one you actually want afterwards.

tldr, people are going to play who they want to play. i'd just prefer to see more people working to twist or bend their char icly instead of either turning them into this huge grumpface that does dick all and the player whines about not having ac or cr, or by making them so ooc that they're not the same char in any way whatsoever.

i had what i thought was a good idea a while ago but i couldnt find anyone reliable to mod it with me
