Doesn't Dorian already have the Midnight Court?

True! I forgot about that. Then I would say Merida, Leo, or Nico. Three to four-star people who don't have titles, lands, or huge amounts of influence but enough of a name to show that they have invested interest in helping the world.

i get you're trying to pick people who haven't been in the limelight but the criteria you're using for it is a bit wonky

I've actually only been in the game for the past ~two months so I don't have much of a solid opinion. I just pulled up the influence roster and looked at who was there and looked for people whom I haven't seen with listed positions of power like the barons and marquis. Having land to your name doesn't mean much unless your land includes villagers, soldiers, viable resources that would make you some kind of power in your own right. But I also understand what you're saying.

I'm curious, though, because I haven't seen others putting forth their opinions: who would you pick?

Honestly, I think there are some Barons or Marquis that might actually break from their Courts and try to form their own factions/power structures. Just because they've thrown themselves in with their Court doesn't mean they believe in the ideals--people like Balem, for example, are more interested in power, rather than the actual Court.

it's not Merida's land, it's Lancers', and last I checked Leo wasn't listed as a Golden Cadre on the influence roster. only Nico is a marquise (inherited the position from Kayneth) which would put him out of the running by your elimination process
