but in the end it turned out i was the confused one! what a twist

i'm always surprised when i see people referencing the book, it's not like it was ever popular. it was self published back in the early 00s, but i've actually seen someone playing ashleigh. is there some secret fandom out there somewhere i didn't notice when i was 14 and into yaois enough to read the entire thing online?

For me it was kind of the other way around. I know of the author due to some of his fandom stuff, and heard he wrote a book. When I recognized his name in a used bookstore for like $5 I snagged it. No regrets.

yeah i was familiar with the author from their fanfic and the fact that they were tight with the person who wrote kagerou (this was before they revealed themselves as a nutbag). so i read the book out of boredom when i found out it was free online. interesting concept but not particularly groundbreaking, i'm always surprised (pleasantly!) when it shows up.

honestly even though it's pretty trashy i'm mostly buttchafed at their webcomic, metanoia, being abandoned. it's not great? it's not even really good? but i want to know how it ends goddammit.

if you've ever read it, do did you notice how odd it was that the main character is also a lily-white ginger with a feminine name who lusts after someone of native american/hispanic descent? the main characters of metanoia are very, very similar to the main characters of the god eaters, just with switched around personalities.

(sorry i've never found another person who was familiar with this author before and i'm enjoying this stroll down memory lane)

Whoa, nutbeg? Deets anon. I follow Kagerou and the writer on Tumblr and I want to know which drama this is about.

I skimread Metanoia once, ages ago, and I can see the resemblance, yeah. It's probably a mix of "write what you know" and write what works. They have a few recurring archetypes and dynamics in their fic too but I like those archetypes so I'm okay with it. :d

it's not huge drama, they just make an ass of themselves on tumblr a lot. ymmv how much of an ass; personally i think they're harmless. they just never seem to have grown out of their 2edgy hot topic phase. they once made a homestuck au where characters were confined to a mental institution and diagnosed them with various disorders. anyway they're vastderp on tumblr.

yeah i'm okay with it too, their characters are compelling and that's all that really matters to me. i just always wondered if anyone else noticed it too but had no one to ask who had read both!

god this is making me nostalgic. the last time these people updated their original projects was how many years ago?
