i never get this attitude because RP is the height of fantasy too. naruto is there. why do we suddenly need to be uber-realistic for sex scenes?

it's one thing if you like uber-realism but i dont get why it's the gold standard.

when you go into rping from high fantasy canons, you expect high fantasy shit, but most people aren't going to want to play out a smut scene involving someone's dick exploding with come and shooting them up against the ceiling.

smut is just one of those things that you write to be enjoyable. the people that are smutting aren't likely to be doing porntastic moves because it's not really ic for them to know what a chocolate fandango is or something that has them coming across as super duper prostitute experienced. playing out realisim in porn just seems to be more enjoyable for the majority. including goofing up and falling off the bed or coming too soon or awkward sex that happens. that's something people enjoy in the process.

likely because a lot of canons aren't uber-realistic. playing out canons like naruto or dbz as realistic would be a bunch of grouchy men yelling at each other and throwing rocks around while having big man-baby fits and getting institutionalized because I AM THE SUPER SAIYAN. it's just one of those things you have to get to get.

dude, you're being incredibly pedantic. have you ever seen call-girl resumes? they list things like moves they know. porn stars and prostitutes have made this entire language to describe acts instead of having to spell it out. dirty sanchez is the most popular one known to the non-professionals, but since i was talking about porn in general (which sort of makes porn stars prostitutes on the basis that they're accepting money for sex, just overall instead of per client), it still stands.

statistically speaking, more professional sex workers know names like that then non-professionals (barring ones that are boning or bffs with professionals)

i started out by suggesting not emulating porn and you said 'why not because la la fuck realism'. so this all comes back to 'don't emulate porn because things it isn't realistic in its portrayal of how two canon chars might meet up and fuck'.

dude, just read the thread and figure it out. if you can't manage that, then this conversation isn't really one you should be interjecting on.

i never said it did. i said it included it in terms of realism, which some people do like. and that's been brought up here before in terms of 'things you like to play out during sex.' any time a 'i like to play awkward sex' thread comes up, it gets lots of discussion and love because it is something people like to play. it just doesn't happen as often.

you definitely need the base of knowing what's realistic before you should play other stuff, though. the same way you should know grammar rules before you make a stylistic choice to break them.

if you just say "realism doesn't matter!!" and do what you want without knowing what is realistic, you're not going to write good unrealism, you're just going to write nonsense.

plus if you only learn about rping sex from porn you won't realize how incredibly specific some of its themes and tropes are. it's really obvious when someone's been feeding off of porn only and sometimes you can tell the type, like mainstream vs hentai shit.

i mean if the only way you can get off is ahegao face spam then go ahead but otherwise you might want to pick up some variety.
