¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

As someone interested in joining what's the game like from the inside? Is it easy to get CR? Are people friendly or cliquish? Is the game fast to deal with and do people backtag? Are people generally IC?

I've been enjoying it so my answers would be all blandly positive. That said, my strongest recommendation in regards to getting CR is to app someone who you could see fucking around on a network to some degree.

Like I've got one character who'd very reluctantly use it (because it's important given the setting) but his conversations with people would be businesslike, short and to the point, and so getting CR would be like pulling teeth. Meanwhile...I don't know, Thor would probably large ham it up over the network. Talk about how it's...quaint compared to Asgardian technology. Mention that this is the second time he got depowered. Call for his hammer. Stuff like that.

Not to say they have to be friendly, just that the easiest characters would be ones who'd voluntarily use the network.

And pacing...I'd say it's consistent more than anything else. A post or three a day, but three OOC days translates to one IC day, which means there's a decent amount to do per IC day but OOC it's spread out. It's like how some games are like hoses which get turned on at full blast once a month and otherwise drip. Snowblind's more like a water fountain that's always going.

it's very easy to get cr if you have a character who would use the network or you coordinate with people to get your characters stuck together. everyone's been really friendly and open so far. the game is small-ish so it's not crazy fast, but i do find that the 3 ooc days can go by in the blink of an eye sometimes. people definitely backtag to a point but it's a game focused on moving forward and finding new information so i assume they'll drop it if it's like 10 ic days old/30 ooc days old. i'm not familiar with a lot of the canons in game so i can't really say, but most people seem decent to me.

I'm one of the newer players but I've found it very welcoming so far, not cliquish at all as long as you're making an effort to reach out. Not really sure about CR yet just because it's been moving so slowly that it's hard to see if anything's developing, but people are certainly willing to tag around and work together.

i apped in the last round and so far i've enjoyed it tons.

definitely thirding making sure to app in a character that doesn't have an issue making conversation over the network though. it might take a while for your character to meet up in person with other characters so if action tags and logging is more your thing, this might not be your type of game.

the players here have been very welcoming and i've gotten a handful of really nice threads going on already. the majority of my intro threads were tagged to the finish too. if you're concerned about people backtagging i wouldn't be too worried. cr is pretty easy to get as long as you're kind of consistent but people don't seem too worried if you're a little slow.

i can't speak for all the canons around because i'm quite canon blind to many of them but from the ones i do know, most of them are pretty in character and interesting.
