why do you think them using a nickname you came up with means they're still attached to you? i still like bands that someone i fell out with introduced me to, not because they introduced me and because i'm all nostalgic over them, but because i like the fucking bands.

they just like the fucking nickname. chances are they may not even remember you came up with it. what do you expect them to do? stop listening to things you introduced them to? stop using the nickname? stop using journal names or screen names you helped them come up with?

some people don't need to purge everything you've been involved in to move on. you're seriously way, way hung up on these people and you need to learn how to let shit go.
