Don't bother

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

how exactly does one get certified in judo? is it something you did for years or something you took up for a job?

also please tell me what is in that white creamy garlic dip i've been trying to figure out for years and it's driving me insane.

The first step is to train/compete in judo until one reaches the rank of nikkyu (second degree brown belt). This will take you about three years, and you'll be tested on each rank (although the first couple tests are ridiculously easy). Then you have to attend a day long course where you learn mostly about safety and demonstrate knowledge of the material. The assumption of the course is that you already know the techniques of judo, so here's how to show them in ways that will keep your students from hurting themselves. Then they do a background check on you, and if the person running the course approves, you are now a local level coach.

This allows you to teach adults and start a local club. There are more certifications for teaching at the state and national level, teaching visually impaired people and children (there was a brief presentation at the coaching clinic on visually impaired judo, fascinating stuff) and refereeing (also at the local, state, regional and national levels).

You're probably thinking of tzadziki. It's yogurt based and also has cucumber and dill. If you got it with Indian food, it's probably raiita, which is similar but thinner.

(as far as doing it for a job, while it's good window dressing for other fitness based jobs, judo is basically all nonprofit at everything below the national level, you pretty much have to do it for the love if you live in north america)
