Plenty of introverted people have social skills. That said, being an introvert isn't a card to play for refusing to exercise/learn some.

being introverted has nothing to do with social skills

Bitching because my EXTREMELY extroverted family can't seem to understand social situations are draining and I can't do them 24/7 isn't lacking social skills. I have social skills, but that doesn't keep me from being drained.

i've always liked this and it's been helpful in helping me explain to people.

I've tried. They literally can't seem to comprehend that I need to recharge. Like.

"Why can't you just go to the bathroom and breathe for a few minutes isn't that enough???"

it's like trying to hammer a brick in with a feather. some people just can't wrap their heads around others not being like them. sorry, anon.

... why? it gives a pretty good example of how i feel as an introvert. i don't have the energy half the time to deal with people because i just don't have it.

it's done in a cute way to try to explain it without psychological terms that have people confused.

because it makes us sound like some weird alien species who doesn't know how to people at all and needs to be handled with kid gloves

i hate how all introverts who make these dumb explanatory comments act like interacting with people is some exhausting draining task for all introverts ever. i'm fine interacting with people for a very long time. i work booths at tradeshows for days. but i just recharge by spending time alone. that's all. i don't need people to treat me like i'm in an introvert bubble.
