k, you're free to think I'm full of shit if you want.

I literally don't care, since plenty of spiritual beliefs sound like completely insane horseshit anyway. this affects no one but me, so I don't care what anyone thinks of me. I just really want those fucking tumblrkin idiots to stop harassing people and abusing my community's namesake for their dumb need to be special snowflakes with neopronouns and "omg ur repressing me by not believin that i am a sailor moon werewolf fairy!!!11!!"

believe me, I wouldn't identify as otherkin if I could help it. after nearly a decade, I've found that allowing myself this small measure of crazy allows me to be a much more functional person.

a core part of the non-tumblr otherkin community is always questioning yourself and your sanity. it's a common saying among us that to stop questioning yourself is to really become insane. knowing we believe in something completely off the wall and continually doing reality checks is PART of being otherkin. aaand that's where tumblrkin fail completely.
