Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

When I used to app mod I was always fine with players coming to me about problems they saw in apps, especially if there were significant issues but the canon was not easily researched (either because it was very obscure or because it was massive and difficult so narrow down such as comic canons with many timelines).

If you say something like "Hey, I'm not sure if you're canon familiar or not, but X app has significant issues, such as..." it should be fine.

Now, if it was an issue of one apper being your friend/them being a faster tagger/the other player being a known thread dropper or flake/their tagging style matching better with yours/anything that didn't have to do with the app itself I'd say no, you shouldn't say anything. But if the app itself is bad go ahead.

Agreed. If the app itself is bad enough that you would've critted it even without there being a challenge, drop the app mods a note about it. When I was judging apps myself, I frequently ran across apps I was canonblind to and needed to check them against wiki information/spot-check the canon to be sure, and input from a player who knows the canon well was very welcome.

If they do know the canon, you probably don't NEED to, but it'll do no harm.

I don't think there's anything wrong with going to the mods since you are one of their players already and this would impact you directly. It sounds like the app in question has significant flaws and it makes sense to be a little cautious in that situation.
