You're all idiots except for me

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

what's worse:

a game that's big and popular but your character/you get little to no attention or cr no matter what you do, or

a game that's snail-pace slow but you have a lot of cr and people excited to plot with you, they just take forever

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
the first one is why i dropped cdc, tbh. i'll take the second one every time, at least i feel like an actual presence that matters.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
oh my god cdc is such a letdown. i love how much effort and work has been put into it but the playerbase is so horribly insular you'll constantly be struggling to get logs done if you don't have established friends to bother for activity.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
wtv anon if you're one of the newbies from the latest round you've let us down too. don't complain about not getting cr if you can't even finish your threads cause i ain't tagging your flaky ass again if you drop my thread two comments in. this is why i stick with established cr and people i know will keep tagging me back

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
what an incredibly bitter assumption to make

your poor mods

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a lot weirder things in this comment that I could point out but I'm just going to say that ayrt pretty obviously implied they dropped a long time ago.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-24 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
even if you have friends going in, don't expect them to tag you either. ty for urging me to app and then ignoring my tags and efforts to plot, guys

second one forever! actually i'm in a game like that now. i wouldn't call it snail-pace but i definitely find myself itching for more when i have to wait. i've played in mostly the first kind in the past though, and i have to say i usually end up dropping those within a couple of months. the constant "potential" for stuff to do is not nearly as fun as actually doing it, even if it's slower.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
then...wouldn't that make the first one worse, not the second one?

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 10:52 am (UTC)(link)
don't be pedantic, you know what they mean.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
both. i'd rather have a game that moves at a normal/fast pace and reliable cr. i don't want to play by your rules.

yeah like it's not like these are the only options that exist.

i like big games where people give me attention because i'm just that damn cool.

fyi, contrasting opinions aren't automatic signs of autism.

unless you are actually autistic.

the word existed before mcr, cha-cha

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Second one is worse because in actual practice, all that great CR will be 90% hypothetical and come from people gushing about all the great things our characters could do (but never actually do) over plurk, while our actual game threads get dropped two or three comments in. Every time.

Number one 5ever, tbh.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been in both situations and one is much, much, much worse by a landslide

it seriously blows to see everyone around you having fun and building interesting cr when you don't have shit to show for months of effort

fuck even if in scenario two you end up with excited gushing that doesn't always end up being threaded out it is still way better to have people engaging you and interested than ignoring you

i actually finished more threads in scenario two than one even if it took longer because the other players cared enough about our cr to see it through

people who don't give a shit about cr with you will tend to drop your threads fast or phone it in with hookless trash so you end up letting the thread die yourself

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
agreed. the question is basically "how do you want your not-cr" and at least the second one would be fun and have some sort of potential.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
the first one

I hate feeling left out

(Anonymous) 2015-05-23 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
the first one is the worst. at least you'll finish threads eventually in the second.
