The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is very very worth it for $20. It was worth it for the $40 I paid on PSP when I came out. There's so much detail so much awesome characterization and the plot is pretty neat. As long as you aren't bothered by it being a very slow burn of a plot you'll love the game.

Only sad thing is still no release date for the sequel and it does end in a cliffhanger. The sequel is my all time favorite JRPG. Should be by the end of the year though, honestly will be within the next few months more than likely unless any major issues crop up unexpectedly.

I really like Life is Strange. It's basically like playing a Young Adult novel. It also somehow just really captures the feeling of being in high school and the kind of people you meet there. Like a Telltale game, would often agonize over which decision to make and I like how the time mechanic works. There are definitely flaws like the lip-sync and sometimes the dialogue is a bit weird. But it's such a unique little game that I really recommend it.

Lbr, the dialogue gets really weird, but +1 to all of that. If what's already been mentioned doesn't put you off, and the YA-novel-like wistful, "about growing up" tone appeals to you, it's really likeable.

Yeah the dialogue is weird because sometimes I feel like it's really on point but other times it's like "what?" Sometimes within a few sentences it oscillates.

it's pretty pretentious and has dialog in vein of buffyspeak, but i'm enjoying it. it's definitely better than a telltale game because you have an effect on what happens and you can control things. it doesn't feel like a "choose your own adventure" game where you do nothing.

I've not played Lord of Magna, but I've read a few reviews/firsthand accounts that say the game feels almost a bit incomplete, like the budget just wasn't quite there for it.

i'd wait for reviews for the english version to come out before buying, but most of the accounts so far from those who have played it have said lom's gameplay was tedious.

you're better off watching different lps for the choice brackets than playing lis. i think games like that aren't worth the money.

PC games usually will go on sale for a decently low price soon enough anyhow though.

i actually disagree.

i think watching games like that is really boring because you don't get the same feelings of conflict over the choices you made which is part of what makes those games compelling. i like having the ownership over my character in the story i make.

Also LiS is a mystery game at it's core. it gives you a lot to think about and work with between episodes, and it's way more enjoyable to wonder what effects YOUR OWN decisions will make than seeing what someone else wanted to do.

tbf, most bl games have rape somewhere in the story

it's messed up sure but you're going to have a hard time finding a bl game that doesn't have it

that being said, i do think a certain rape scene in nty could have gotten the point across while still keeping a certain someone sympathetic without resorting to rape

NTY is basically your average BL game, but with the roles reversed with the protagonist "taking the lead" instead of the love interests. Story-wise, I found the cast and there is an interesting plot going on that you won't get the full story of unless you play through each route twice and get all the bad endings.

And like other anons here mentioned, there are scenes with dub-con and some non-con in it (the biggest offender being Kouichi's route). If you're familiar with the BL genre, it's pretty standard fare for the genre, but, again, it's the protagonist doing it than the other way around.

If the dub and non-con doesn't put you off, then I do recommend playing the demo on MG's site to see how you like it before buying. If it does, then I wouldn't recommend playing NTY since there are a lot of H scenes in it.
