You're all idiots except for me

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I kind of want to play Frankenstein from Penny Dreadful, but I wasn't raised in an English speaking country and don't know any classic English language poetry/literature. It's a pretty major part of his character that he can quote from these things off the top of his head, and I don't know anything about it. Is there any sort of useful guide I can read maybe? Something that can give me a rough understanding of Romantic poetry?

you could always just read some

that seems like more effort then i want to put in. and honestly, i'd rather finish reading through the classics in my native language before moving on to english. (also it seems like there's a lot and i wouldn't know where to start)

I'd recommend looking at an online lecture/course that's an overview of Romantic poetry, since honestly, that's the only way you're going to get a rough understanding. It's a pretty broad category with a lot of authors and influences, so if you want a rough understanding, you're still going to need something with a lot of information to it.

Reading the works is going to be better of course, but looking into something like a course/podcast/etc. will give you places to start.
