rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

i was just looking up something on gamefaqs and i remembered a mod taking away my points (or however that site fucking works, it's been at least 5 years) because i told someone "don't be so rude [to op]"

what inane things have you gotten mod warnings or punishment for? i'm talking about online stuff but offline is fine too

I got banned from 4chan for making a bad dragon joke last week

alright so this is a doozy

theres this big community on smashboards called "make your move" thats basically dedicated to making smash bros movesets. i made a moveset for the grinch at one point and asked the leader of MYM to upload the pictures for it on his photobucket account since i didn't have access to mine at the time. he did and i posted it.

a few weeks later, he decides it'd be a hilarious prank to replace all the image urls with grinch rule 34. thus, my entire post now contains pictures of the grinch fucking his dog and i get banned for it.

i explain the situation to the smashboards mods. not only do i get unbanned, they ban the leader of MYM. MYM proceeds to ban me from their chat and the contest even though the leader-dude appeals his ban a few weeks later.

I got modded once on gamefaqs for posting a spoiler. Said "spoiler" was something that happens within the first hour of the game. Even the site itself defines a spoiler as a critical plot detail that happens far into the game.

Disputed that with a copy and paste of their own rules and an explanation of where it fell within the game and said if that moderation stands the rules need a rewrite to actually match up with how they are being enforced.

Oh, forgot to say, they denied my dispute. So now I just report anything that isn't on the box itself as spoilers to annoy the fuck out of the mods.

In the LJ times, I politely told a mod/admin from a yaoi manga scanlation comm to stop bashing the hell out of a make character's wife. Got a furious, screaming rant calling me a bitch, accusing me of trying to start fights and threatening me with a banhammer

I was confused, so I apologized and explained my points as calmly as I could. My comments were deleted to hide the evidence and the crazy mod/admin then huffed about she'd ban me the next time. I just left the comm and ranted about the crazy womanchild on my LJ. And mostly forgot about it until now.

As a bonus, right after leaving I checked the mod/admin's journal and SURPRISE, she was almost in her 50's. And throwing fits like a baby because a girl much younger than her told her off on her childish behavior.

That thing was run by a fucking psychopath of the highest order.

I remember being a member of an RP forum where I did a lot of playing with people via PMs. The mod of the forum (or ~webmistress~ because we're going back a while) told us we had a scheduled purge coming up and we would need to save our messages before that date. I had a free day before the purge so I planned to do it all then.

She purged everything 2 days before the promised date and I lost hundreds of tags and RP discussions. When my group of friends and I joined a post criticising the action in very polite terms, we were threatened with a ban for complaining about it by her patronising, sanctimonious ass-kissers, who treated us like we were being incredibly hostile when we had nothing on them.

At that time we were the only RPers who got further than three pages of ~brooding mysterious strangers in the tavern~ with our game so we just upped and moved.
