rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. OP, along the space opera route, you might also enjoy Honor Harrington from the eponymous series (a young space navy officer with a telepathic alien cat and a tendency to get herself into serious trouble and out of it via cleverness); Grand Admiral Thrawn from the Star Wars extended universe (an alien Imperial officer who tried to restore the Empire after Palpatine's defeat, and very nearly succeeded); a variety of characters from Babylon 5 (the majority of the main cast are in primarily diplomatic/political positions, but many of them have backstories involving serious military command, and there's some great large-scale space battles around about s4.)
