You're all idiots except for me

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

it's kind of bound to happen, anon. any game that comes out is going to garner a lot of interest if it looks like an actual amount of effort has been put into it. whether it crashes and burns before it fully opens like the project future or starts to slip because the mods don't realize what they can handle or not like midnight syndicate, people are starved for something new. too many things have started and crashed and while a lot of players are hesitant to jump right on in because of that fact, more than enough people are willing to test the waters as long as it means they can get their chars in.

we need more games and more people willing to mod them, but we're sorely lacking in the latter because of burnout and no rewards for people willing to mod who get treated like fun dispensers.

at least this game has a cap right off the bat and the forethought to limit themselves to what they think they're capable of handling. they mention the possibility of expanding if enough interest is in the game and they can handle it. that's way better than opening a game with the thoughts you'll get a handful and winding up with a flood you weren't expecting.

I don't think they've capped it because they don't know if they can handle it. They've already modded tower of animus. They've said the game has a set run time of about 2 years too so it might be something with the plot keeping the cap in place for now.

I didn't know ToA mods were modding this. Interest piqued, I really enjoyed ToA.
