i'm sure if youre planning to RP twin peaks youve already done this, but: get the supplemental material. all of the supplemental material you can get your hands on, read it. and not just the diary, read everything that you can. to have a real understanding of laura and her circumstance, i think it's really important to do a lot of legwork to understand what twin peaks is as well as we can, since it's clear that she's pretty intricately tied to the more supernatural goings-on.

also, i hope this makes sense, but try to avoid romanticizing her or glamorizing what she did like tumblr likes to do. while she is a powerful and interesting character in the context of twin peaks, shes hardly heroic in the way that tumblr likes to make her out to be. she's a sad, scared child, and severely abusive and manipulative toward almost everyone around her, especially bobby. the supplemental material makes it pretty clear in the that she feels absolutely terrible about doing it. it's not empowering to her at all. she's a scared child trying to fit the twisted, hyper-sexual and aggressive image of adulthood that her father has created for her, while being severely conflicted with what she's doing and the choices that she's making, and i think it's important to remember that a lot of laura's choices aren't actually her own. i hope that made sense...
