takeo from ore monogatari (best shoujo i've seen in years, he's the male main character and a genuinely lovely person)
yamada from yamada-kun and the seven witches (looks like a harem anime/manga but there's way more to it than that, but if you can't stand fanservice then it's not for you)

Kiyoshi, Takao, or Kuroko from Kuroko no Basuke. Kiyoshi is the guy every mother wishes her daughter would marry, and a mentor-type. He's also a little airheaded. Takao is famous for being a high-spec kareshi (perfect boyfriend) but he also has a fun, teasing sense of humor. He also has a pretty bulletproof partner, Midorima, so if you like a built-in ship, try Takao. Kuroko is thoughtful and low-key, but surprisingly driven.

You could also check out Hyuuga if you like your responsible nice guys to be a little tsun and grumpy.
