Mod activity and calls to step down are not things to bring up in that manner. It is unclassy, rude, obnoxious, and proves all the more so that Trans is just as badly handled on the inside than it is on the outside.

Mod activity and calls to step down have been addressed multiple times in private, by many different parties, to no avail. Everyone involved would rather this were handled in private, but private conversations got us nowhere. Going public, as with the last discussion post, was the first time anything was actually done about it.

Which is pathetic in every way. Making it public is demeaning for those involved, and once again this showcases how badly run the game is. Not by the mods who are now targets for the playerbase, but the active mods who actually let bull shit like this pass. This should have under no circumstances reached a point where it is okay to drag a private matter into the light just to get it attention. The player who commented should also be ashamed for not e-mailing them privately instead.

The player who commented DID contact them privately. A few times, actually. But I don't think we're going to see eye to eye on this anyway, since I don't see the inactive mods as blameless victims of the playerbase since they got to that point by being inactive, and I don't see how the current mods, who are already working their butts off, were supposed to solve the problem aside from just stripping the inactive ones of their rank, which would have also been a bad solution.

In that case, I hope whoever you are, you are never appointed as a mod.

Out of curiosity, if you're so big on private matters being kept private...why didn't you email or PM the player in question telling them you disapproved of their actions instead of posting on anoncomm trying to shame them? Or talk to the mods about how they supposedly need to moderate their playerbase better, instead of calling them out on a community they have a policy against taking into consideration? They and the player all have anon-enabled venues to talk to them.

It's a little hypocritical, is all.

They went about bringing it up in a tacky way, so I did, as well.

The mods follow and respond to anoncomm all the time, so their own ruling against it, much like their professionalism and ability to moderate correctly, is nothing but a joke.

Before you jump on me about it, I mean professionalism in the realm of game moderation. I'm not comparing it to running a multi million dollar business, but there is a level of sense and leadership required for a game to run smoothly. Trans has proven time and time again, that it is not being run well, at all.

They went about bringing it up in a tacky way, so I did, as well.

But...they went about it in a tacky way after other avenues were proven fruitless or exhausted.

One of these things is not like the other.

Because two wrongs make a right, is that it?

Soooo what was stopping you from contacting them privately this time? Not saying they haven't had their problems, but now it just seems more like trying to twist a knife in than anything.

Re: DA

because they don't respond to private contact.

What a great way to run a game, ignoring the players entirely.

I don't see it as rude or demeaning. And it's not really a private matter. It's a game-wide matter, seeing as unresponsive mods have been an issue for a while now.

So yeah, not really a private matter.
