Sadly I am also one of those people so I'm biased, although I'm fairly certain the 'lost Greek god of cologne' line works in my defence. BUT.

In all honesty, there haven't been many Harry players that I've seen, and those that I have seen a decent amount of were either very fairly inactive so they didn't have mudge CR to judge from or were just... really bad. And as a Marcone player, I'm pretty sure some Harrys avoided me in case the CR got difficult (sob).

As long as you can come up with proper justification for how you play him though, I can't see there being much complaint. He DID suffer years of emotional and some physical abuse, although I don't see if you could make any case for sexual abuse excluding the Red Court's semi-rape scene and maybe Mab's.

That said, I can certainly see that he'd be repressed about a lot of things, not just his sexuality - IMO he's trying to live up his perfect ideal of what he SHOULD be like, despite it being pretty much impossible for any regular person to be that decent, let alone with the shit Harry's been through and the choices he's had to make.

TL;DR as long as you can properly explain enough WHY you think Harry's the way he is, I doubt anyone will mind. But you might want to explain in any app/information post that the way he acts doesn't necessarily reflect that the way he might be acting if he wasn't holding himself to something he considers to be an ideal.

And that was meant to be about a paragraph long before it grew, so go team me.

Haha, I'm afraid not! I'm sure we hang out on the same-sites, but the only DF fic I've written is a partly-finished one for the kinkmeme (which I really need to finish soon ¬.¬). I'm more of a lurker and RPer than a fic-writer, these days.
