yeah I don't mind having them and they're nice for sometimes, but when the whole main comm is basically people sitting around on their IC laptops or IC smartphones or whatever rather than getting out and doing things, it bugs me. Particularly because it's so OOC for the majority of characters -- certainly for most of mine.

yeah, a lot of characters are not computer addicted like most RPers are— if anything they're technologically unsavvy and won't really bother to learn, because they prefer to do things the old fashioned face-to-face way! Which isn't really that hard to do in most jamjars. I'm kind of tempted to make something like a 1930s small town set game where characters regularly meet up for Church every Sunday, whether or not they're religious, because that's how you get the town gossip. (This is actually something my Dad did when he was young in the 1950s, too, so it's not a stretch.) And don't forget town bulletin boards!

I... really like this idea and would def sign up to help out. The 1930s is my favorite decade. So much useless knowledge and trivia.

Seconding this idea! 1930s and 40s are what I specialize in at school, and I would love to help get a game like this off the ground!

+1 !!

Common areas to gather and bulletin boards should cover a lot of the gossip...! I like this idea, anon.
