Another good reason to follow each other around is that
1) Hetalia has a lot of sub-casts: Nordics, Tomato-gang, Oceania, Asia, etc. An Australia being in a game means little to nothing to a Latvia.
2) There are a lot more things that are up to interpretation in APH than in most other canons, at least in my opinion: about basic things like human vs nation name, but also about relationships. And also interpretations of certain characters.

Not that that doesn't go for other fandoms too, but for me it is a reason to consider games where I know the APH cast members over games where I don't know them.

These are really good points too and I agree with being hesitant to app into games with casts I'm unfamiliar with for the same reason.
