University/archive/kidnapping panfandom game?

(Anonymous) 2011-12-24 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Been sitting on this idea for a while, but now seems like a good a time as any to test the waters and see if people are interested?

Your character would be brought into a university town that exists outside of time/space, with the goal being that the people who took you want to basically archive you, your memory, and experiences as an example from the world you're given. Basically as a type of living specimen. You could live in the town, and there would be opportunities for characters to teach/take classes.

I don't know, still working out some thoughts but...

That's neat, but how would very young characters work here?

Essentially similar to older characters. They'd be given housing like older characters, have the opportunity to take classes (doesn't need to be quantum mechanics, can include things like basic geology or reading, whatever people would be interested in), or just slice-of-life activity.

I'd personally love to take part in a university game, but I'm not sure how necessary the archive/kidnapping bits would be. Couldn't it simply be, you know, a university au game? Characters could be de-aged or aged up as necessary to fit the undergrad or grad age brackets. Plots could include concerts coming to town, football/baseball/whatever games, protests, a fire in the dorms?

I'll probably join anything based in a university, but I'm so sick of the "you are trapped here by your overlords >(" gimmick.

I like the whole "archiving your memory and experiences" idea. It'd be neat if some of the events were maybe based around that? Although I'm not sure how that would work.
