Re: GAME IDEAS
how many people would interested in a game based on american mcgee's alice? i'm not entirely sure how i'd have it work, but some ideas i had are as just:
- similar to another game on lj (the name escapes me at the moment, sorry) you'd wake up in an asylum (which, for anyone familiar with the series, would be named rutledge) only to be told you are not who you think you are; you've been admitted for (x) reason and you're in an victorian england asylum, not the place you think you should be. the asylum is incredibly dodgy, abuses its patients and the staff is largely incompetent.
- again similar to another game on lj, you'd have to come up with alternate history for this part of your character. their name, age, past, any health conditions, so on and so forth. reasons they were admitted as well.
- some of the game would take place in the 'real world', namely, the asylum itself. characters would interact with each other, receive "treatment", deal with the staff, possibly receive visits from people who knew them prior to being admitted and other things i'm not sure about. maybe later on the game could expand to an entire city, and characters could relapse or just pretend to be well enough to get out or be picked up by a doctor or something.
- most of the game, however, would likely take place in wonderland. wonderland, like in the game, would basically be a projection of the characters' minds. while most, if not all, of the levels from the games (and likely some cut from final products and then some from my and players' own ideas), they'd all deal with trauma from characters' pasts in some way. there'd be a lot of world exploring, fighting off monsters as seen in the games and then some, and i'm considering recovering memories, as seen in the second game.
- there'd be a lot of elements from the games, but i would definitely do my best to explain things so that you don't need to be familiar with the games to play there.
- i'm not clear on 100% of the details, likely more around 50%... so if you have questions or ideas or something feel free to let me know. i'd appreciate it a lot actually.
er, so basically, damned meets somarium with alice in wonderland motifs. any takers?
Re: GAME IDEAS
(and the game on lj is damned, btw.)
