Here are the 8 most registration-heavy days for Dreamwidth
From http://www.dreamwidth.org/stats/stats.txt

So for the 21st (#8) and 22nd (#4), there have been 56160 registrations in all. That's 1497 more than May 1st, 2001 (#1). Who knows how many new accounts there will be for the 23rd? Or for the rest of the year?

What do you think about this, anons?

DW should send LJ a cake shaped decorated with LJ logo and/or Frank.

So, how much of you new registrants plan on actually using those journals, or are you just squatters who will hop back to LJ when you realize your friends are still there and Release 88 has been fixed into something more palatable?

I'm sticking it out here, and already have most of my journals set up. LJ's just confirmed they won't be rolling back the changes and people will have to use the s2 style when they release it (which also won't have subject lines), so I suspect this will be more of a sticking point than before.

Also, there's nothing stopping people from playing on both sites.

Correction: the subject titles are for the default style, not the s2 style being implemented.

http://news.livejournal.com/140683.html?thread=98422411#t98422411

They're putting in an s2 commenting style at some point (which presently isn't something available to every account level), but no definitive about how that will be implemented (a stack-on to your journal style, a journal style itself, a checkbox, etc). But basically they're not taking back the default comments page as it is (except for likely bug fixes).
