Re: Domestic Life Game

Why don't you just make it a modern-day AU then instead of a jamjar where characters are forced into families they don't want and told they've always lived there, aka the entire premise behind Mayfield? Yes, there can be more than one zombie game, or more than one post-apocalyptic game, but there is a difference between two games that are both post-apocalypse but with entirely different premises, and say...a post-apocalyptic game being created now where characters are taken by a group of scientists, chipped, and dumped in a wasteland...except the wasteland's not called Discedo and there won't be too much horror, so it's okay! And Mayfield may be psychological horror but there's plenty of non horror and slice-of-life events that happen too, so your game is really basically 'Mayfield when the horror events aren't going on'. Most of the posts that take place outside of events are domestic slice-of-life ones.

The AU would work better with what you're trying to go for anyway, if you want a domestic slice-of-life game rather than a horror game. How many characters do you think would actually be willing to play out the whole domestic family thing ICly if they already have memories of a home and friends and their own family, instead of say trying to figure out how to get the fuck out of being trapped in a world that's not theirs? And why are they being trapped in the town in the first place? Once you start heading down that road, everything starts to become more sinister, and you wind up losing the domestic part and becoming...well, Mayfield.

Because we don't want an AU. We get it, you do, so go make it yourself instead of pitching a fit that a bunch of people want this instead of what you want. It's entitled as fuck.

We don't want the sinister stuff. The most sinister and creepy aspect of this game so far is that... What? There are photos. As well, there are a lot of differences. It's not just Mayfield without the horror aspects. We have extended families, homosexual couples, childless couples, etc. Mayfield is defined by the 1950s view of life. This game is just defined by family. Yes, we reference Mayfield--because a lot of people know what the fuck it is and it's easy to reference for a very general idea.

DA

Um, how is kidnapping someone to a strange place and forcing them to live out a life that isn't theirs not sinister?
