Just pick which ever faction you want! Each team is somewhat balance so you have your magic users and physical fighters.

Unless you're on the secret route then welp.

Is it just me, or is the mysterious stranger a red-haired detective whose daughter misses him? I want to see Rinaldo's face if I'm right.

Secret route can be beaten on a first run, it'd be just more challenging due to some factors.

And for the other point, well, the game pretty much spells it out if you pursue his subplot. It's not like they're really hiding that point anyway.

I checked the FAQ for the 4th path's requirements and I should be good to go for it! Joe's the only one not at Rank 4 yet.

I'll pursue his side plot next game, because I want to know why people think he's dead. Did he fake his death, or what? And why?

Woo! Yeah, the secret route isn't that bad to unlock, if you know how to approach it with dialogue choices. If Joe's not at Fate 4, you'd miss out on recruiting him for endgame (unless you're on Team Egalitarian).

And woo! All will be explained, and I like his subplot for adding more info/depth to other factors, and how some stuff end up looking in context. I'm trying to be vague on spoilers but I love how things tied together

GO GO Shiva's defeat isn't mandatory, but beating him will let you fuse him so.
