oh, that's completely reasonable and i wouldn't even really consider it metagaming.

i mean stuff like suddenly knowing the character's name or some other piece of pertinent information the second or third comment into a thread, before anything has really even happened.

yeah but it gets used to basically mean "a character figuring out something i didn't want them to figure out" even if there actually is plenty of viable ic information that would allow them to figure that thing out

pissed it putting it a bit strongly, but i find it a bit weird they couldn't have said "sorry" when they're rping with mostly people who would find it offensive? they don't have to prostrate themselves or talk about how horrible of a person they are but "haha, whoops, sorry about that, now i know for next time", how hard is that?

what do some people have against ever apologizing for anything? honestly.

I wish I could say "it's okay anon, I'll tag you!" but honestly I've had some hang ups about some of the newbies, so without knowing who you are I can't guarantee I'd be particularly interested in you character. You could be from one of the huge casts I'm trying to avoid, or one of the few game transplants (which I avoid on principle).

If you don't happen to be either of those, my dear newbie, then maybe you're just tagging the wrong people. A lot of the players here came in with already established large friend groups from other games (cdc/ariel) so they tend to prioritize their buddies re: tagging interest.

I think cole is overrated in RP but he's an interesting character.

I'm bringing here two ideas I posted a while ago AND new ones I thought of...

1) Another anon came up with this one some posts ago, and I really liked the basic premise so yeah. FateAU scenario, with a Master and a Servant. The Servant exhausts his/her energy BIG time in battle and needs LOTS of mana to recharge, so sex ensues between Master and Servant to make it faster.

- Specific preferences: Can be either f/m, m/m or f/f. Can play either side, whether Master or Servant. Bonus for hurt/comfort shades.

2) For one or another reason (being cryogenized, using a time machine, hypnosis, magic, etc.) someone wakes up in a completely different era. He or she is found and taken in by an organization whose members assign them a companion tasked with helping them get used to these new times and gather info on them so they can learn how the HELL did they end up there. "Time traveler" and companion become emotionally involved and start a sexual/romantic relationship.

- Specific preferences: f/m or m/m. Bonus for prospect discussions on values dissonances between the two. HUGE bonus for "brooding traveler/gentle companion (of either gender)" dynamics and hurt/comfort. Can play either time traveler or companion, and would prefer the companion to be younger or at least less world-weary than the time traveler.

3) For whatever reason, Character A has the power of entering people's dreams/subconscious and modifying them to their will. They step into the sleeping Character B's dreams and either of these scenarios happen:

* B is a total stranger who's having an erotic dream. They realize A is "watching" and stop what they're doing, but don't wake up. No matter what A's first impression is ("oops?", "LOL U LOSER", "nah, not the first time I walk on someone's wet dream..."), once it wears off, they tell B something by the lines of "hey, sorry for interrupting your 'fun', but since I messed up let me make it up to you...?" And they re-build the erotic dream by "having sex" in the 'scape.
* A and B know each other, whether in real life or just the dream scape. (Or maybe even both). A steps into B having a wet dream whether about them or not, and the same as above happens: A and B confront each other in the 'scape, A offers to "have sex" in their dreams, B accepts and they do it.
* A and B know each other *and* this time A knows B in either only dreamscapes or both 'scape and RL. The "dream" starts out as a normal one and they have a chat, and then the subject of wet dreams comes up. B asks A if s/he can give them an erotic dream, A accepts and "sex ensues".

- Specific preferences: f/m, m/m and f/f are okay. Can play either the dreamer or the dream weaver. BIG bonus for A using his/her dream warping / walking skills to "recreate" a setting for the upcoming sex, whether it works or not.

4) A and B are on a night out and either suddenly it's too late for them or there's no buses/taxis/etc. The closest/cheapest lodging option is a love hotel / motel / etc. with pretty... imaginative layout / decorations / accesories. A is fascinated like a kid in a candy store and wants to check on all the "goodies" in their chosen room while B is tired / sleepy / embarrassed and only wants to have their sleep. A manages to convince B to at least have a look around the room and the "goodies" with him/her, B starts to get into it too but isn't willing to admit it, A manages to break through B's inhibitions and/or objections, and sex ensues between the two with either A using the goodies s/he liked the most on B or asking B to use them on him/her.

- Specific preferences: f/m, m/m and f/f are okay. The "goodies" can be pretty much anything that can be plausibly found in a love hotel, probably save for super hardcore kink-related stuff that wouldn't be for newbies. Humor during sex is a plus, probably coming from banter between the two or "goodies" use that comically backfires on one of them.

New Charlotte info, including when it'll be broadcasting, coming out in the upcoming Dengeki G's Magazine. Also, there will be a promotional 4-koma manga series for Charlotte by Haruka Komowata (same person who did the Angel Beats! 4-koma series) coming out in the upcoming Dengeki G's Comic.

Both magazines will be released on the 30th.

actually i think you're right, i'd just noticed a few drops and the fact the pool of people doesn't seem overly right. might have been worrying too much though. time will tell i suppose

it wasn't false flagging don't be so dramatic. like i said above it was because i'd seen a few drops and the pool of people playing doesn't seem that big as it is. more a slight concern then oh god oh god its all doomed

i can't get over how inbred this character looks

absolutely not because it'd make me a massive hypocrite but i'd probably avoid getting closely emotionally involved if they weren't able to compartmentalize a bit or made a habit of dragging others down with them because it's just too big of a risk to my own mental health

that said i feel like a lot of people in dwrp and just in general aren't necessarily honest with themselves about this sort of thing because people rp with me just the same as before but as soon as i said something about my mental illnesses on plurk a lot of people backed off on chatting with me even though my behavior stayed the same

idk if it's because of how big of an impact my illnesses actually have on my life or if it's just the stigma of mental illness in general but it sucks and makes me feel lonely sometimes

ITT post if you tried out a canon and felt it didn't stand up to the hype, and kind anons may pitch in to tell you if it changes/gets better and you should keep going.

Case in point, I read Lies of Locke Lamora and found it jolly good fun, but the characters are shallow and the plot is really disappointing in its resolution, plus it had that consistent annoying tendency to build up female characters as very cool then have them either killed off or one-upped by men. Do the later books improve on those accounts?

it could be a matter of timing, too. as someone who's been in the game since opening i really want to tag new people, especially newbies! but! my character is usually involved in plot which means they (and consequently me trying to be conscientious about not taking on more threads than I can handle) only ever get a small window of "downtime" to be able to branch out. combined with the nature of their personality that makes it doubly difficult as they're not the type to seek out relations unless there's a purpose behind it. usually the test drive and part 1 of the events are the best opportunities for me to establish new cr.

hang in there and give the game one or two months. try to sign up for next month's part2 event, that's a pretty fantastic way to get invested CR very quickly, i'd say.

to my understanding the next order of events might go something like:
>downtime from part 2
>cr meme/kink meme/activity check
>test drive
>part 1 next event
>part 2 next event
