Also, our tiny Over the Garden Wall cast has been super good. I don't even watch the show but I always enjoy reading Wirt and Beatrice.

we do exist though! i agree i think we are a minority however, and i don't do much else besides work and rp. if you have a social life or a high stress job i don't know if it would be possible

We've had about 60 characters from the game open. Seems more like it's stable than shrinking. Take a look at the event logs. Over a 1000 comments in a couple of weeks is not dying.

I actually just googled, and oriental has a different meaning in English than in my mothertongue (where it isn't offensive either, by the way). As in, describing a different part of the world. Weird.

most people pick up dog shit in their own yard. you know why? because it's fucking dog shit. a dog shits about 3 times a day. you don't pick that up and they're just shitting in your yard? that's 21 piles of shit in a week. big yard or not, that's a lot of shit. and if you don't pick it up, it's not going anywhere. it's not manure. it doesn't just melt into the grass. most pet owners who aren't lazy dumbfucks bag their pet's shit and throw it in the garbage, their lawn or not.

i hate the idea of secondhand embarrassment. my friend constantly uses it to make herself feel superior and to shame anyone who looks like they're having too much fun. she'll even dramatically flounce out of a room when she thinks a random stranger is too embarrassing. i went to an anime convention with her once and she was practically to the point of shaking and crying over mediocre fanart and fat people in costumes.

i can understand feeling bad for someone who's caught in an awkward situation, but secondhand embarrassment usually seems like a way of judging people while feigning concern. like "oh, that poor person must be too stupid and socially inept to realize that they ought to be ashamed to be seen in public!" when really they're just having a good time and minding their own business.

i have never known anyone in my entire life who picks up dog shit out of their own yard. literally no one in my nearly 30 years of life, across 3 states. i've seen it on tv when someone lives in a nice suburb and that's it

Yeah, this. Plenty of languages have singular words for this feeling. It's not limited to fandom/geeky stuff.

and ten years from now i'll probably be saying the same thing about myself now so i have that to look forward to

everyone i know who has a lawn who has a dog that shits on it, picks it up. people have kids. no one wants their kid stepping/falling in dog shit and tracking it in their house.

i don't... read them even if i think they were good quality or i put a lot of effort into them. i just don't like doing it. probably why i forget a lot of stuff from psls/past cr lol
