Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Anyone you're looking forward to see app? Anyone you're thinking of reserving?

Outside of the castmates I'm getting (this probably makes me pretty obvious), I'm super excited about that Baccano! reserve.

hey guys, what's the pacing and tag out rate like here at monad? currently deciding whether to reserve or not.

The pace isn't incredibly fast; there's usually a network post every few days (or a few on the same day, usually around events), and there are more regular log posts, maybe one or two every other day. If you're looking for a game where there are a million new things to do every day, this might not be the game for you, unfortunately. But if you're more of a slow or steady tagger, there won't be a problem.

Tag-wise, the game seems largely willing to backtag; I've had logs that had gone on for almost 2 months, just because that's how it happened, and if you can't get around to tagging every single day or boomeranging, that's fine. There are players who do tag quickly and as often as possible, and there aren't complaints about them either. Generally speaking, the game can accommodate players with all kinds of tagging speeds, and even if you tag into a large event post the day after it goes up, you'll get tags.

tl;dr: If you're looking for a game with a pace like CDC, you'd be disappointed, but if you're interested in a more relaxed game, then Monad could probably suit you.

how difficult is it to make ac? based on what i've read it looks like you'd have to do several times the amount of tagging than the average dw game rn to stay in it and based on the pace it seems even harder to make. seeing that it rewards making posts over tagging out is a little disheartening too. the minimum would be a post (25) then like what at least 100 comments? you can only interact with so many new characters....

It's really not as difficult as it sounds. You also get the +25 point bonus for making toplevel comments on update/event posts, and we usually get at least two system updates a month, so that's an easy 50 points right there just for reacting to an update on the network. After that all you really need is 15 log tags maximum to meet AC, and that's excluding the tag chain/new character/event/glitch/new log or network post/etc bonuses. If you're hoping to get by on network tags alone it might be a bit daunting, but if you just make or tag out to a couple logs a month you should have no problem exceeding the AC requirement.

Personally, I've been racking up points like crazy despite being a glacial-pace tagger. It helps that everyone is really good about backtagging.
