Too slow

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I heard of this game on ATP and was considering trying it. Can you fill me in on what's been going on with it?

The game slowed down a lot around the holidays as things usually go, but unfortunately in January, the head mod had a death in the family that hit them very hard - both emotionally and financially. The family member in question contributed heavily to the household income and there was legitimate concern on the mod's part that they might end up being on the street if insurance and other revenue didn't come through. So the head mod basically disappeared from the internet. The secondary mod wasn't really the driving force behind the game and things ground to a halt during February. The game lost a lot of characters and players during both January and February due to a lack of motivation and direction.

In a sort of last-minute scramble by the remaining mod, two new mods were selected to take over from within the playerbase. (the remaining mod gave people about 3 days to submit mod apps for consideration)

The new mods are pushing forward a plot to try and get those who are left involved again and rebuild some of the enthusiasm there was when the game first opened. I'm personally hoping it will work. I'm not really into the plot itself so far, but they're trying and really pushing for people to be involved. And that's good.

Give the game a chance. The more people that do, the more likely it is we'll be able to pick some momentum back up.
