Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

what fucking conflict? i'm honest to god asking you right now, because all we got was an ominous threat of ~your weaknesses will be used against you~ but nothing specific in terms of what form this would take, or when it would happen. there were a lot of posts addressing weaknesses and going home right after it happened, but that the full of extent of what people could do with the information we got.

like you said yourself, that was a couple of weeks ago now. there is no reason to have drawn it out so long when it's clear that everyone was waiting for the actual event the npc was hinting at to start.

figuring out what their weaknesses are and addressing them, dealing with the potential of going home (or not going home if they can't return to their world for whatever reason - i know there are some characters who want to go to other worlds and right now they don't even know if that's possible or not) or maybe being stuck here forever if this fails, dealing with the thought of never seeing the people they met in luceti again... some characters have been in the game for years so being physically "reset" to the age they were when they first entered the game would be a big deal to them. there's also the whole thing of potentially keeping your memories when you go back home, which would be a good thing for some characters and not for others. hell, even the fact that they don't know what form the weaknesses being used against you thing will take or when it will happen is something to play with right there.

there's a ton of character-building stuff to do with what we've been given. not all conflict is action-based.

I'm just gonna go ahead and repeat myself:

there were a lot of posts addressing weaknesses and going home right after it happened, but that was the full of extent of what people could do with the information we got.

We've already had weeks for characters to talk about all that stuff you just mentioned. But talking about what-ifs forever isn't fun in RP. People want to actually play endgame stuff. They want to play the conflicts that their characters might face. Non-action-based conflict is good and fine, but not when we've been promised action-based conflict that turned into a no-show.

There should have been a modpost OOCly outlining endgame no more than a week after that NPC post went up, if that. It's been a month now. The fact that there'e only been one IC post since February should tell you how much this slowness has killed motivation for the game.

I have literally already threaded HUNDREDS OF TAGS (as in more than 100 tags on my part) of this already, and that *just* with the people still active enough to post or tag a post

What I need to know is more some kind of timeline for how long we have to resolve this stuff... I have adult rl stuff to balance with this hobby (as do most other players, these days, we aren't on just exams time anymore), and it makes me feel tentative about opening a shitton of drama boxes if I don't know how much time I'll have to bring CR arcs to a satisfying conclusion (likewise I don't want to introduce something new in a post if plot is going to derail interest, I don't think that's unreasonable... the whole reason I rejoined was for a sense of conclusion).

THIS.

They turned the game into happy SOL land and then NOTHING.

Let's be real, the real reason most people gave up on posting/tagging even after the npc post is because the shitty way the mods handled this whole thing has crushed motivation.
