Rundown:
rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

continuing gray discussion
(Anonymous) 2015-02-04 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)I wouldn't count being in gray on the downtime months as part of the punishment. They were arguably disadvantaged during murder plot, but there were still opportunities to get involved. If people are stuck there for the whole of Macha despite improving then I think it would be something to complain about, but Macha is the time for grays to prove themselves.
Yes, they're barred from one thing on the calendar. But there are other opportunities to participate and prove themselves. Why would anyone have earned their way off it by now? I think people are complaining about it because they want the easy way out. I'm glad that the mods aren't letting flakes and squatters get away with continued bad behavior without showing improvement. Imo it's a big problem this game has.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-04 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)People who were put in gray but really do love the game will be willing to invest the effort needed to get placed back on their teams, and have motivation not to be put there again.
People who were put in gray and aren't willing to put the effort into getting back out would have, sorry, most likely continued to drag their teams down. I know that it's generally taboo to tell people they don't belong at a certain game, but CDC isn't a relaxed game and is not a good choice for players who prefer to go at a relaxed pace.
Gray team is a good way to motivate people to get their asses in gear, AND a good way to clear out the players who just can't keep up with the game while still giving them a fair opportunity to try again.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-04 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)It's a punishment. Just own up to that.
Re: continuing gray discussion
(Anonymous) 2015-02-04 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)it's only a punishment if you see it that way. like ayrt said, it's a wake-up call
Re: continuing gray discussion
(Anonymous) 2015-02-04 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)for people like Shepard it IS a punishment. she deserves being stuck there until she can learn how to play nice
Re: continuing gray discussion
(Anonymous) 2015-02-04 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)so sick of seeing them charge into games and just immediately demand that the whole plot revolve around them, everyone listen to them by default, etc. with zero consequences for acting like a shithead just because their canon narrative caters to them

Re: continuing gray discussion
(Anonymous) 2015-02-04 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)the mods have never punished people for being slow. the game caters fairly well to people setting their own pace. everyone on gray either flaked out of important missions or never bothered being there in the first place

(Anonymous) 2015-02-04 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)Not everything unpleasant is a punishment. Look at it this way: you fail a test and the teacher makes you come to detention, where you have to sit quietly and do nothing. THAT'S a punishment.
Now imagine you fail a test and the teacher gives you an opportunity to re-take the test IF you hand in the homework from last week that you forgot and come to a tutoring session for a few hours on Saturday. It might not be something you're psyched about. You have to spend more time on homework and miss hanging out with your friends on Saturday. But I wouldn't call it a punishment, it's a second chance to do better AND a wake-up call that you need to shape up if you don't want to be in that situation again.
