Tits up!

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

...If they don't go with that idea for AGE's inevitable future Super Robot Wars appearance, I will be sorely disappointed.

My money's actually on time travel since it's already present in one of the mangas. Have Gen. 1 handled via flashbacks or something like what they did with Pailsen Files, and bring the necessary Gen. 3 people back via whatever they did in Treasure Star with the AGE-1 Daiki.

Since the odds are we're not getting any more AGE people in SRW Unification we're just taking... liberties with what'll happen after Ambat (which is actually happening tomorrow, coincidentally).

Did they ever explain how it happened in Treasure Star, and is it even counted as canon? I mean, there are plenty of references to Memories of Sid in the novelization and game (plus that quick glimpse of Angrazzo and Reuna's dad in the series), but trying to find info about Treasure Star is like pulling teeth. So I'm not sure if they'd use that. Then again, the games tend to be more including of the wider canon...

Aha, I guess in a roleplay it'd be hard to incoporate the canon time skip, even if you just went for Young Adult!Flit instead of all the way to Asemu.

What little I know of Treasure Star comes from the Gundam Wiki and doing canon review for Flit. There's nothing of it in the game from what I can tell, but I can't read moonrunes and didn't feel compelled to grind to see if they included AGE-1 Daiki.

And AGE's time-skips would be hard to do on a world-wide scale, but it'd be doable on a smaller scale, like a single colony propelled into the future via time shenanigans. We did that in UG@ at one point with an entire country. And with the Vagans having so many of their people in cold sleep, it's easy enough to handwave things on their end barring Desil.

Well, unless it's a password that none of the wikis have, the Daiki's definitely not there, whether as a wear or as its own core. I even double checked with my endgame save.

Poor unhandwavable Desil. I'd feel sad for him if he didn't keep killing characters with potential.

I just wish AGE would've embraced the notion that the Vagans were all irredeemable monsters and played to it, because Desil was wonderfully psycho and set a good precedent. We haven't really had an proper unambiguously evil and delusional villain group in Gundam since the Zanscare and Crossbone Empires and the Vagans were so close to that.

But ah well. I defended AGE a lot on /m/ when it was first airing, but gave up on it when Gen. 3 became too much for me to bear. Still, like SEED Destiny it's a story with a lot of good ideas and just bad execution and a main character I like because they're allowed to have good intentions but still make mistakes. That and making bad canons better is one of the great things about SRW.

Ah, AGE's eternal problem of planting the seeds of excellent ideas and then salting the field. We could have had fully evil Vagans, or Yurin as an indoctrinated Gen 2 opponent who still remembers Flit fondly, or a Big Bad with a plan that makes sense, or a SID that's half as terrifying as it was in the manga, or even interesting bad guys still alive for the last episode. I love the series, I really do, but I have to admit I'm looking forward to seeing how it can be improved.
