i adore her but the reason why i love her is what makes it hard for me to play her - she's shown both very playful and goofy and yet when she buckles down and gets serious, she's very much a warrior - and trying to keep the two in balance can be a struggle, especially if i'm trying to figure out if i should have her be goofy or serious.

any suggestions and tips? i always end up losing her voice in games and it sucks.

Wow anon are you me? I haven't fully canon reviewed in a while, but I think she's more likely to be playful or adorably awkward when she's hiding her status from humans; like classmates at Karakura. Also around close friends like Ichigo, Orihime, Renji, etc. She's mostly serious when the situation calls for it, such as official shinigami business.

That said, it's very difficult to balance that in game, since her reactions largely depend on her environment and who she's associated with, considering she takes a while to warm up to people and can be aloof. The best I can say is try to keep her involved? Whether it's related to game plot or even some kind of personal project, something to keep Rukia focused and grounded could open up CR opportunities and help to establish whether she comes off as silly or serious.
