Big imagination full of real things

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

There are 137 characters in the game if the taken list is up to date, and we get maybe 5 apps per cycle on average, if we're lucky. Drops are about the same each month or more.

If the mods don't think this is a sign of the game needing to change, they're fooling themselves.

but is AC the biggest problem or how the game is being run?

Both. The mods are not listening to or communicating with their playerbase.

Honestly I don't think the AC is that difficult or particularly an issue. It's really not hard to make a 30 comment AC.

I do think the fact that players are struggling to meet the 30 comment AC and dragging this issue through the ground is an indication of bigger issues. Right now, the game is very slowly run and everything feels uninspired. Events happen at half the rate they used to, the event posts we get are short and vague, questions don't get answered for well over a week, and overall most of the mods seem disinterested or uninspired.

If the game was being more smoothly managed, I don't think as many people would have issues with getting thirty comments... But not too much was happening in the past AC period, even with an event in works that was supposed to be a huge game changing deal.

My issue isn't making 30 comments because that part isn't hard, like you said. For me, it's making them in three threads when people are taking anywhere from two days to a week to tag back. There are some people who are good at tagging back consistently but then there are others who will put up a post and take forever to tag it back, at which point you end up wondering why they even bothered making a post at all.

yes, but if you change ac to cater to the people who are already tagging you back slowly, they'll only tag you back even slower. those people who tag forever to tag shouldn't be in the game if they can't keep up with the pace decided by the ac.

if you're a fast tagger and are struggling to make ac because of others, then maybe you should stop supporting them and find more reliable thread partners. if anything, ac should be more strict (in terms of pass/fail, not comment counts) so that people who consistently fail to meet ac get booted from the game.

Or you can accept your game is dying slowly and that everything is slowing down and maybe your AC is too strict for a SoL game that is very small and very slow.

30 comments is way more than 95% of the games out there these days require. dwrp in general is slowing down and most games have acs that reflect that.

the other newer games i'm in require 15 and 10 comments for ac. that's the norm now.

I don't know about that, anon. I've been in the game since just before the move to DW and it's slowed down even since then. This past AC was the first time I struggled a little to pass it and even with all the threads I had going, I had to use a really old backtagged thread to make 30 comments within three threads. I think even allowing players to use one more thread for AC would help out a lot.
