Big imagination full of real things

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

i don't like generic intro posts in general. the fact you decide to show your character's voice through more generic shit doesn't help, and i feel bad for the mods who have to read so many of them in an app circle.

they're the ones who have decided that a post in their own setting is required, and 99% of the time it seems to be a network post, which are fucking stupid in general

writing something that you don't actually intend to have people reply to (which is what my samples are, since i don't do intro posts) is a waste of time and energy when it's both easier and a truer representation when i can just link them some of my actual, you know, rp

so yeah, they get whatever is sure to not offend. i just wanna play, bro, not dazzle some strangers on the internet

Except a lot of people just fart out a generic intro post even when the game they're apping to does allow them to link to actual rp. Or write a sample in another setting. Or do anything other than fart out a generic intro post that sounds like it could come from literally any character in creation.

if it's good enough for mods to still accept them then the point is moot, tho

if mods don't like seeing that shit they need to outright state they won't accept it and turn down the players who write it up, whoa problem solved

otherwise that's their issue to handle. if they're still accepting it then idk what we're supposed to be up in arms about here, mods choose their own app standards

You can't blame the players when that's exactly what the rules say.
