Agreed! In general I would love to see more open posts in the game. I don't want it to become Republic City slice of life.

I'm a That now? What'd I do to earn that? I wasn't aware there was a problem with me. If that's the case I can either change what I'm doing wrong or just bail.

I don't even know what that's supposed to mean, but I don't feel "persecuted". It's a game. If people don't like playing with me in a game I'd like to change the way I play. No fun to play if I know I'm pissing people off.

And if I can't fix the problem, the most gracious thing would be to bow out. I'm not really interested in making it into a big deal.

People were talking about them a couple posts ago both here and on WG. I do think the automatic "I'll just bail" over being refered to as 'that' when they've been getting plenty of in game tags is a bit of a drama queen move, but its hardly a persecution complex. You sound more butthurt than they do.

this is really painfully obvious though

except it's really not. i've been involved in discussions where there's been at least 3 other anons besides myself contradicting something and the party being contradicted bleats same anon like that somehow erases all the flaws we've pointed out.

sometimes the comms are really active. sometimes there's ten-fifteen people commenting on different things/same things. sometimes there's only 2-5. just because people reply to something within a few minutes doesn't mean they're all same anon and that's a really shitty way to derail an argument.

You'd think they'd realize it wasn't a sameanon when I gave two paragraphs on what had been said about Slade-mun. I thought they'd given up on it after I responded to the question they're trying to use the timestamps on as "proof".

Anyway, don't waste your time on them. They want to be right, let them think they are. It's not that big of deal and anyone really interested in this thread can see they're an idiot.

Most of it had less to do with characterization and more to do with your ooc behavior being off putting - and that's the nicest I can put it for you.

In response to one anon feeling a little creeped out, others brought up previous issues with you from your time in coa. Idk if there's much you can do about that other than try to open yourself up to anon crit on plurk about what makes people uneasy about how you come across on that level. Then go from there.

The only ic issue I can remember off the top if my head (sorry, I'm on mobile and its hard to link posts) is that Slade referred to a male character as a 'she', despite them being pretty obviously a guy and referencing themselves as such in their metatext. Which gives a well deserved impression that you don't actually pay attention to what other players are having their characters do/say. There was only one instance of this brought up, but ignoring/missing/mixing up something so basic is a pretty big red flag for a lot of players. It gives the impression that if you won't pay attention to something like that, you're even more likely to ignore the more important things players do or bring up because it doesn't jive with what you've already decided will happen/how things should go/etc.

I appreciate the feedback. I think an anon crit of myself on plurk would go poorly: I can't think of a single way to word that that doesn't sound weird and/or self-pitying.
"Hey guys, so apparently some of you think I'm a creep. What's up with that?" About 100 of the people on my Plurk are completely uninvolved in any of this, too, so that'd just drag them into it.

I didn't play in CoA, I'm not really interested in more than the occasional smut meme. If people want to insist it's me then I don't really see the point of arguing it.

I will make it a point to play better attention when RPing. I don't like for the other muns to feel marginalized.

ICwise outside of what above anon said, I feel like your character is bland and crutching on rich old guy. I'm not familiar with the character or canon though so I have no idea how ic this is. I feel you're on the meta side too, your character knowing things they shouldn't, etc.

OOCwisw I feel you're overly pushy with cr and try to shove your character in things he has nothing to do with. I think the best way to put it is that it feels like you want more to revolve around your character than is really necessary.

I'm going to admit I'm also incredibly creeped out by knowing your previous involvement in COA and it makes me very wary about playing my character against yours.

Thank you for the input. I don't really like crutching on the rich old guy thing, but I agree that's exactly what I've been doing. It was supposed to be an occasional diversion, representing his civilian alter ego. However, any crime done with Slade needs plotting ahead of time so the muns of the other characters are fully comfortable with what is going down before it happens. Until I can find someone who is willing to do that, I'm not willing to do that kind of stuff, out of consideration for the other muns. I've actually been considering dropping Slade in favor of a different muse because of the lack of interest in crime plots.

I will resolve to be less pushy with my CR, thanks for the tip.

not touching all the other stuff, but the game is less than a month old. give the other players time to get settled in, give the pace some time to establish itself before trying to jump into major crime plots that would shake things up. you'll probably get more interest then.

i meant to add that i think right now it's fine, the game isn't very old but i would like to see more to him if you are going to keep him. at current he's about as interesting as a soggy noodle even with the open post.

i'm personally more concerned about the metagaming than the actual characterization. if you're going to have your character know more than they should, support your facts with how he found out ig. as a whole i thing introspecting on your character would make him more compelling as a whole.
