it's superior to the anime, imo, at least as far as fleshing our characters goes. 0079 will always be a classic but the animation did not age well at all. origin on the other hand is positively gorgeous and has lots of juicy development that was missing in the original. expensive definitely, i feel you, but worth every penny.

i think dwrp is all about the instant gratification when it comes to series now. they want what's new and shiny, and UC isn't either of those. it's older, it doesn't have the "standard" cast of bishounen, and you do need to be paying attention if you want to play these characters well. i shudder to think how someone would handle characters like amuro or char if they thought they could just wiki bullshit it all.

i hope you enjoy getting through UC at any rate! there are more fans than you might think, it's just difficult to play from. as you know.
