same golden rules apply as canon characters. don't try to turn everything into your personal angst bucket, and don't be an asshole ooc. vashti was not exactly sterling and some of the tropes they played didn't help. they still had their supporters and a lot of CR, it wasn't like a mob chased them out of town

"edgy" characters are always going to rub some people poorly but it's not like any of them lack for CR and a few OCs are really beloved by the playerbase. which is pretty quality given how few OCs are in the game at all

if i wanted to play my OCs right now, CDC is where i'd go

Vashti's only relevant because she's the most obvious player who got a stupid amount of wank for stupidly little. There are plenty of others who've come up at wg time and again just because someone doesn't like how they play and doesn't like OCs.

If you're one of those players at CDC, you'll get wanked on time and again for it, you won't deserve it, and what people will say about it is 'rightfully so'.

And your point is? I assume this is based on wankgate, where nobody with half a brain would try to seriously defend someone in a wank thread because they know it would hurt more than help. Most of the OC wank is generic hot air blahblah angry at OCs existing which, again, anyone with half a brain would take with a whole can of salt.

CDC is big in scale and rep right now, there's going to be wank issues accordingly. OCs seem to be doing just fine in-game for the most part. It's not more or less friendly to OCs than any other game, just more visible.

I'm saying CDC has problems with wank snowballing because it's a big, wanky game. OCs are the usual, regular target of that. That's something that deserves mentioning when someone wants to know how welcoming a game is of OCs.

"they do fine in game" is one thing. I love my CR with the OCs. The level of wank aimed at them, though, is shit, and from what I see looking at other game threads it's worse than most.

any game with a large playerbase (player-character ratio in cdc is practically 1:1 because of the app limits) is bound to have a lot of people so there's going to be a lot of clashing opinions. big games aren't "wanky" by default, it's just louder in general because of a higher population.

and it's no more or less welcoming to OCs than any other game out there; tbh if your OC fits the setting they'd do really fucking well. look at pilot, parker, and isha (who's also been wanked on a lot), they're exceedingly well-settled in the game. and the new OCs like maya, maias and ryan are doing really well also. there's a bunch of OCs who get complained about because they're either constantly MIA or they don't play well with others - just the same as with canon characters (remember q?) when they mess up.
